Edward Hlavka's work is described as figurative realism and is cast in bronze. His subject matter is an eclectic array depicting Historical, Wildlife, Western, Jazz, Children and Religious themes. His most recent monument, shown below, measures nearly 20' high and was done at the request of the Oneida Indian Nation of New York. The monument "Allies in war, Partners in Peace" was recently installed in the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. Mr. Hlavka is a Professional Member of the National Sculpture Society.

The intuitive understanding of motion and mechanics combined with the artistic influences of my wife, Marji, led me to the creation of kinetic sculptures. In 1975 we started Wood That Works and I became a full time sculptor. Since then I have designed and handcrafted over 90 different limited edition and one-of-a-kind kinetic sculptures. I have exhibited in numerous juried, invitational and group events. My work is displayed in galleries and private collections around the world. I currently maintain a studio in Ashford, CT in the rural northeastern corner of the state.

Julia Burr has never been one to follow the traditional path. As a result, her experiences have left her with an excellent foundation for almost any creative process: simultaneously innovative and pragmatic. Shortly after receiving her MFA from California Institute of the Arts, Julia found herself in the thick of the entertainment industry. With the burgeoning growth of special effects in Hollywood, she was able to bring her fine arts sensibilities to hundreds of commercial projects that required her to learn and implement all phases of fabrication. As she moved up the ranks, it was Julia's unique aesthetic that would give her work the edge. Working with a variety of companies, she traveled all over the world creating installations in places such as Japan, Spain, Taiwan, China and Belgium. While much of her career in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Orlando focused on very large projects, since moving to Black Mountain, NC, Julia has shifted to more intimate projects and individual works of art.
